Comedy: Panic Squad
For The Panic Squad, it’s improv comedy. Wit. Pressure. Impulse. Spontaneous comedy. Flying by the seat of our pants. Energy. Purpose. We come from all walks of life—a pastor, an actor, a fundraiser, a manager, an IT guru, a barista, a banker, a worship director and more. We come from the U.S. and Canada, from the East Coast and the West. What we share is a God given, and God honoring, talent to make people laugh, a love for entertaining, and a commitment to only settle for the highest quality of comedy
Band: Remedy Drive
The absence of a television set at their home in Lincoln, NE, led band of brothers Remedy Drive to turn to music at an early age as an outlet for their pent-up creative energies. Growing up, they listened to CCM icon Keith Green, but it wasn’t long until siblings David, Paul, Philip, and Daniel Zach discovered rock & roll and began using their free time after school to play music together, eventually forming the Aslan Band in 1998. In time, the Zachs rechristened themselves Remedy Drive, released five independent albums, and toured all over the Midwest, making a name for themselves in the Christian rock scene there.
Remedy Drive is partnered with an abolitionist group called The Exodus Road. David, our lead singer, volunteers as an undercover operative when the band is not on tour on missions to find and free slaves, specifically underage girls trapped in the red-light districts of Southeast Asia by human traffickers.
Hopefulson is a community held together by friendship and a common passion for worshiping Jesus. Formed by serving together in camp and youth ministry throughout Alberta, these friends began to envision an expression of worship that captures the beauty and goodness of God while drawing people to trust Him more fully. To the bands surprise, there debut album STEADY hit number one on the iTunes christian charts the week of its release, solely from word of mouth. Hopefulson collectively desires to see people released into greater freedom and connection with the Father, both individually and as a gathered church. This family of worship leaders consists of Derek & Tayler Gust, Todd Postlethwaite, Jordan Wright, Chris McGregor and Mark Watt.
Throughout the weekend we will be hosting a concert cafe showcasing some local musical talent and providing a place for those needing some Coffee!
